Matthew Perry And Lauren Graham Relationship: How delightful is it to see two of your favorite big-screen stars tie the knot?
Unfortunately, so hasn’t been the case with the FRIENDS’ sensation Matthew Perry and the sassy Gilmour Girls’ Lauren Graham. The two shared quite a brief history back in 2003.
Though Lauren has been relatively mum about her romantic life, she does hint at a momentary happening.
“He became my Friend Who I Almost But Never Exactly Dated.”
Matthew Perry and Lauren Graham have been picked on by Ellen on her live show, flipping and turning them in hopes to get an affectionate answer, but not much bore fruit.
They shared the screen in a 2015 series, “The Odd Couple.” Having been romantic partners for a short time, they made the perfect on-screen couple. But their separation has been much milder than that of the characters, who were supposedly divorced.
Before sharing the stage for a season of “The Odd Couple,” Matthew and Lauren showed up together multiple times on screen for interviews. Also, they met on the set of “Parenthood” in 2010, where Lauren felt the breeze of love from her on-screen brother, Peter Kraus.
Matthew and Lauren both pique acting and making up characters, but they are poles apart when it comes to romantic ventures in life. Matthew has been in and out of relationships, though not so brief as they may sound. But we do get to see several big names of the industry in Matthew’s life.
On the contrary, Lauren has been more secretive for the first 15 years of her acting career. Until she found love in a hopeless place, with a character she performed as a sibling with.

Matthew Perry
Before the meteoric rise of Matthew Perry in the sitcom “Friends,” he had already stared in hits like Second Chance, Home Free, Sydney, and Growing Pains.
Matthew was born in Massachusetts. But due to his parents’ early divorce before his 1st birthday, he went on to live and be raised by his mother in Ottawa, Ontario. His mother was a journalist, but that’s not where he gets the germs of acting and performance from.
Perry’s father, John Bennet Perry, was a famous model and actor in the USA. Both the Perrys shared screens multiple times as father and son, starting from the 1997 film, Only Fools Rush In, and also an episode of Friends where he plays Rachel’s boyfriend, Joshua.
Matthew began his acting career early in life. He was only 15 when he left Ottawa to attend The Buckley School in Los Angeles for acting. His first appearance on the sitcom Second Chance gave him just the start he wanted. Soon after, he landed on several big offers for T.V and screens.
In 1988, he debuted his screen performance in the film, A Night In The Life Of Jimmy Reardon. And a few years later, he reunited with Marta Kauffman and David Crane for the sitcom Six of One, which later became Friends.
His acting career features many great hits like 17 Again and The Whole Nine yards. But his services to the community, especially for drug rehabilitation, are exemplary.
Matthew’s Struggle
Matthew’s interest in drug rehabilitation took root from a problem he suffered himself. His alcoholism and addictions to Vicodin, Methadone, and Amphetamines took a massive toll on his life.
Perry mentions how he doesn’t recall three years of his life when going through the addiction, which was roughly between the 3rd and 6th season of Friends.
“I don’t remember three years of it. I was a little out of it at the time — somewhere between seasons three and six.”
BBC Interview
Matthew’s life’s turning point came not because he wanted to, but because of the fear of death. Matthew quotes in an interview how he called his parents somewhere in 2001 as he feared dying the next day.
And soon after, he flew back home to be admitted to a drug rehabilitation center. The effects of drugs on his health can be seen from the abrupt weight loss when he lost nearly 40 pounds due to addiction and pancreatitis.
After a hard-won battle against drugs, he comes out confident and open about his past. And it is because of this quality that allowed him to expand his recovery path to others suffering from similar diseases.
In Malibu, California, he has opened the Perry House to sober living for people suffering from alcoholism and drug abuse. The White House Office Of National Drug Control Policy awarded him an award for “Champion of Recovery” earlier in his attempts to eradicate drug abuse.
Perry recently spiked worry among fans as a picture of him smoking with the face masked pulled down got viral. He looks much out of shape than how we remember him, and why not?
He broke up with Molly Hurwitz, his girlfriend, back in July and who can handle all the along with the impending lockdown stress. The relationship with his talent manager lasted for two years before they publicly split their ways this year.

Recovery
Having undergone his first effective rehabilitation in 2001, Matthew continuously attends rehabilitation to not stumble by the same stone twice.
In his struggle, the Friends’ cast’s support has always been there for him. The rapid deterioration of his health before the 7th season of Friends had his friends worried about him.
“It was terrifying… watching someone you care about in so much pain.” – Marta Kauffman
“Hard doesn’t even begin to describe it. When Matthew was sick, it was not fun. We were just hopelessly standing on the sidelines. We were hurting a lot. Matthew is one of the funniest people I’ve ever met in my life. He’s charming and hilarious. Most of our hard laughs came from Matthew.” – Kudrow (Phoebe)
Despite his co-stars’ struggling support, Perry says how impossible it was to listen to any suggestion. The call to quit addiction and find the way back to life has to come from the inside and not anyone else, says Perry.
And the supportive band of co-stars could only do so much other than stand by his side in support.
Lauren Graham
We all know the Gilmour Girls sweetheart, Lauren Graham, as Lorelei Gilmour. Lauren is an American actress from Honolulu, Hawaii, born to a fashion investor and a candy industry lobbyist.
She was raised in the shadow of her father’s Catholic faith and is basically of Irish and Scottish descent. Graham moved to the city of dreams, New York, in the early 90s and made ends meet being a waitress and teaching SAT.
She soon realized wearing a Mascot’s dress for the FIFA world cup was not going her far in her desire for acting, and moved to Hollywood to pursue her dreams of acting. There she aired in multiple ads for products and was finally nominated as a host to The Movie Channel’s free weekends show.
Career
Graham marked the official start of her acting career in 1996 when she became a frequent face to see as a guest appearance in several T.V shows.
But it wasn’t until the year 2000 that Lauren would break the internet as she signed the contract for Gilmour Girls. It was soon to become the pinnacle of her acting career and earned her the much-deserved fame we see today.
Lorelei’s role, a witty thirty-year-old raising a kid in suburbs of Connecticut, clicked to her the moment she read the script. Her natural affiliation to the character resulted in some of the best on-screen actings we have seen.
No wonder she was nominated for the 2002 Golden Globe award, 2001, and 2002 SAG award for her incredible performance on the show. And it was the same show, Gilmour Girls, where Lauren would eventually mark the beginning of her career as a producer, onwards the 7th season of the show.
However, she soon resumed her “guest” appearances in shows as she said it fascinated her. Lauren loves theatre performance and short-films, and Gnome from 2007 does justice to her passion. Soon after, she received offers to screen acting in movies, where she was yet to discover her potential.
Sweet Santa, Because I Said So, and Evan Almighty were all major hits. But that was when she expanded her career towards writing as she became an author of “Talking As Fast As I Can.” There indeed is no lack of talent we can see from Lauren’s Career.
Personal Life
Lauren has had a fair share of struggle regarding finding a romantic partner for her life. After meeting Peter Kraus on the set of Parenthood, she revealed how much she struggled. She was annoyed by the changing social circles around her.
“For a very long time I worked and worked, and then I looked up one day, and all my friends were married with children. They were still my friends, but they had become part of a community I wasn’t in, a club I didn’t belong to. Their attention had turned to birthday parties and school tuition, and I was playing catch-up: ‘You guys, who’s free for dinner Saturday? Oh, absolutely no one?” – Lauren Graham
Her dating history doesn’t feature many long-term relationships. But the one that just can’t slip under our noses is how close she got to make the perfect couple with Matthew Perry in 2002. She explains how they “nearly” but not actually dated to shatter all the fans’ hopes and fantasies.
How Long Have Lauren Graham And Peter Kraus Been Together?
Peter Kraus and Lauren Graham share one of the most secretive relationships among the stars. They met initially on the set of Caroline in the City in 1995. Still, it wasn’t until 2002 that romance overshadowed their 15 years of acquaintance.
The actors presented an award together in 2002, where they first hinted at romance. However, it was on the set of “Parenthood” in 2010 when both entered a relationship. They have been together for the past ten years and have featured several couple appearances on screen together that are all ship-worthy.
Why Chandler Went To Tulsa In Season 9?
Over nine years, the evolution of the sitcom Friends held the cast in love triangles and inescapable realities. But the reason for Chandler’s leave during the 9th season was due to a rather personal matter, as is perceived.
During an important meeting, Perry mistakenly accepted an offer to move to Oklahoma for a company designation. And due to the inability to take the acceptance back, he had to commute regularly to Tulsa, which he eventually quit by the last episode of the season.
Although this is what we know surely about, critics and fans hint towards his recovery as one reason for the move.
What Happened To Chandler At The Start Of The 7th Season of Friends?
The end of season 6 and the start of season 7 of Friends featured Chandler’s transition from a committed and sarcastic phobic to a happily married husband. But that was not the only change we saw. We also saw him drop drastic weight.
The abrupt weight loss resulted from prescription drug abuse, which he got into after a skiing accident in 1997. And at the end of season 6, Matthew lost a staggering 20 pounds due to pancreatitis because of drug abuse and alcoholism.
That’s why you see a much skinnier version of Chandler in season 7.
